michael’s story

Michael DiGregorio of Albuquerque and Gallup, New Mexico, passed away on December 13, 2025.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Ami DiGregorio; his cherished daughter, Danielle Rodriguez, and her husband Ruben Rodriguez; and his treasured grandchildren, Emma and Aiden Rodriguez, who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by many dear friends and family members, namely his nephew Justin DiGregorio and his family.

Michael was preceded in death by his loving parents, Jennie Lee and Chris DiGregorio, his brother Chris DiGregorio, his sister Beverly Peterson, and his sister-in-law Lisa Cook.

Born and raised in Gallup, New Mexico, Mike was a talented athlete and a standout student, competing in multiple sports, setting many state records, and creating memories he fondly recalled throughout his life. After graduating high school, he attended the University of New Mexico, where he became a proud Phi Delta Theta and met the love of his life, Ami. Their years together were filled with laughter, adventure, and enduring love. His time at UNM instilled a lifelong support of Lobo athletics which he enjoyed for many years with his family.

A gifted artist, carpenter, and craftsman, Michael found beauty and meaning in creating things with his hands. He approached both his work and his relationships with care, thoughtfulness, and integrity. A true philosopher at heart, he sought wisdom and understanding in all aspects of life.

Above all, Michael was defined by his deep compassion and kindness. His love was genuine, his loyalty steadfast, his advice honest, and his faith in Jesus Christ guided everything he did. Those who knew him well knew they could always depend on him, and his presence left an indelible mark on everyone he met.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 24, 2026. For details, please contact Ami DiGregorio, or Danielle and Ruben Rodriguez at danielleandruben@gmail.com or 505-463-5055.

Should you feel compelled, his family would be grateful to hear how you honored him on the “Kindness & Reflection” page.
